Good evening! My name is Kevin and I was highly encouraged to seek out NARGS and join, by a good friend in Michigan and one of the most knowledgeable people I know in the field of horticulture. (Yep, that pun was intended,

I have just joined NARGS, at the suggestion of my friend Peter George.
Short bio: I am born and raised in West Virginia. I love fly fishing, and catfishing (it is indeed a verb in West Virginia), small game hunting, boating. I also collect mushroom specimens and play disc golf (they go hand-in-hand, actually). I have an economics degree and JD from WVU.
I love WVU football as much as Peter George loves KU basketball.

I joined NARGS about a year ago and have attended a few meetings of the Delaware Valley Chapter.
I recently returned from three months in the UK and France, where I volunteered at RBG Edinburgh and Lautaret Alpine Botanical Garden in the French alps. It was an amazing adventure, both to experience large rock and alpine collections and the culture of the countries, as this was my first visit to Europe! The Dutch Rock Garden Club (Nederlandse Rotsplantenvereniging) was founded on the 21st September 1985. The NRV has its own facebook page now :D!

Hello everyone, I recently joined NARGS, and thought I should introduce myself. My partner and I live on 45 acres of old farmstead in southwestern Nova Scotia. Since we moved here from Vancouver BC in late 2009, we have been gradually building gardens and a small business. Currently we are members of the Arisaema Enthusiasts Group, and the Society for Pacific Coast Native Irises. I am also an avid orchid enthusiast, and was happy to discover two of Nova Scotia's native orchids growing happily on our property.

Most i read, topics and website about plant, most i realize that i know few plants. What a biodiversity !
I start my litlle and personnal "Botanical" Garden that i saw 4 years ago and i have around 400 species in my garden.
I was always looking for new species and hydrids of Alpines, Perennials, and hardy Orchids for the biodiversity of my garden.

My parents came to the northeast in 1970. Essex, New York, at that time pretty ramshackle, stopped them on the way to find the American Dream on the coast of Maine. Before that I'd lived in Lincoln Nebraska for a time and before that, Boulder Colorado. I was born in Ann-Arbor, Michigan. As an eight year old, I was immediatly impressed by the natural surroundings in Essex and spent alot of my youth observing aquatic life in the shallow bay there. Fishing became a passion.
